The Horizon League Tournament is one of several around college basketball with a bit of an odd format for a 10-team league. Rather than have the No. 7-10 seeds have play-in games, the No. 3-10 seeds play in the first two rounds while the top-two seeds in the Horizon League get automatic bids. This season, it’s the No. 1 Valparaiso Crusaders and the No. 2 Oakland Golden Grizzlies that earned those byes.

Though Valparaiso and Oakland are certainly the favorites in the Horizon League Tournament, teams like the No. 4 Green Bay Phoenix and the No. 3 Wright State Raiders are more than capable of putting together a run and earning the automatic bid out of the Horizon League.
