A look at the 2016 MAAC Tournament bracket as everything is set for it to get underway

The college basketball fan’s Christmas is almost here as March Madness begins in just a couple of weeks. Before the 2016 NCAA Tournament can provide a new crop of memories in the college basketball world, though, the automatic bids have to be determined through the various conference tournament. One of the first to get going is the 2016 MAAC Tournament.

The Monmouth Hawks have stolen the attention and the hearts of the college basketball world with their highly creative and fun-loving bench celebrations throughout the year, but they’ve also had a tremendous amount of success as well. Monmouth enters the MAAC Tournament as the No. 1 seed having only lost three games in conference play and only six on the year as a whole.

However, the Hawks are far from unbeatable in the MAAC Tournament with a number of other talented teams in the conference. Both the No. 2 Iona Gaels and the No. 3 Siena Saints have shown throughout the year that they can challenge Monmouth when they’re at their best.

That’s the bracket and now the MAAC Tournament action can get underway in what is sure to be furious and exciting action. And even if Monmouth runs away with it, at least college basketball fans will get to watch their bench have a ball while celebrating.
