America East Tournament 2016 Printable Bracket

A look at the 2016 America East Tournament bracket, which is already underway with a unique format

March Madness is almost ready to get rolling and college basketball fans everywhere can rejoice knowing that the best time of year in all of sports has finally arrived. However, the automatic bids to the 2016 NCAA Tournament still have to be determined in the conference tournaments. One of the first conference tournaments to get rolling is the 2016 America East Tournament.

The eight-team America East Tournament actually got underway on March 2, but the format of the tournament stands out from the traditional format in a major way. Rather than having a set bracket to move forward, the America East Tournament instead seeds the teams Nos. 1-8, but then re-seeds the bracket for the semifinals after the first round of games has been played so that the higher seed plays the lowest remaining seed.

That’s important given the results of the quarterfinal matchups as the No. 7 Hartford Hawks knocked off the No. 2-seed Albany Great Danes in the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, the No. 1 Stony Brook Seawolves, the No. 3 Vermont Catamounts, and the No. 4 New Hampshire Wildcats all advanced to the semifinals. In their unique format, Hartford and Stony Brook will face off in the semifinals, as will Vermont and New Hampshire.

With this unique re-seeding format in the 2016 America East Tournament, let’s now take a look at the bracket. For the printable version, simply click on the link and you’ll be ready to roll.
