Arian Foster was cut by the Houston Texans on Thursday, so which teams should consider signing him?

The Houston Texans released longtime running back Arian Foster early on Thursday. Foster signed with the Texans as an undrafted free agent and played seven seasons for the Texans. In 68 games with them, Foster rushed for 6,472 rushing yards and 54 touchdowns. He benefitted greatly from head coach Gary Kubiak’s zone blocking scheme and was never the same after Kubiak was fired.

During his tenure with the Texans, Foster rushed for 85.2 yards per game. He also amassed 2,268 receiving yards for 14 touchdowns on 249 receptions. Foster averaged an impressive 4.5 yards per carry with the Texans. He might be 29 years old, but he likely still has something left in the gas tank. The Texans loved him and the fans loved him even more. Foster’s story as an undrafted free agent is one that everyone can relate to.

He will likely play in 2016. The only question is where should he play. Foster should have numerous teams interested in signing him to see if he can still be an every down back or at worst as a solid backup. He will have to answer questions about his health after missing 25 games over the past three seasons, but it’s hard to imagine that he’ll have trouble attracting interest from teams.

Here are the five teams that should consider signing Arian Foster.
