DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-March 8
High Salary SF
Carmelo Anthony-New York Knicks (8,400): Melo is back in Denver tonight where he started his career before working a trade to the Knicks. He has been playing well for New York since interim coach Kurt Rambis took the helm ten games ago. Anthony has at least 44 fantasy points in seven of those ten games including each of his last three after posting 50.5 fantasy points against the Pistons on 24 points, ten rebounds, and six assists on Saturday at Madison Square Garden. Melo has torn up the Nuggets regular since his departure although he missed last year’s trip to Denver. The last time he played in Denver was 11/29/13 when he had 27 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks in a 97-95 loss. I expect tonight’s game to be even higher scoring, and Denver should be a good opponent for Anthony since Gallinari’s injury leaves Denver without a great matchup for Melo defensively.∗∗∗∗
Kawhi Leonard-San Antonio Spurs (8,200): Kawhi played 40 minutes last night in the Spurs’ loss to Indiana. He finished with 23 points, six rebounds, and 35.5 fantasy points which was his first games in his last ten contests with fewer than 40 fantasy points. He should be back to posting big numbers tonight against the T-Wolves who have allowed the 11th-most fantasy points to opposing SG this season and the fourth-most over their last five games. San Antonio will be motivated to not drop back-to-back road games, and I expect Kawhi to make sure that doesn’t happen. ∗∗∗∗∗
