A look at the updated 2016 ACC Tournament bracket after North Carolina took down Virginia in the final

The 2016 ACC Tournament was wild from start to finish as one of the most talent-laden and prestigious conferences in all of college basketball. However, it was the top-two seeds in the ACC ultimately making it to the end and battling it out on Saturday night in the 2016 ACC Tournament final to see who would reign atop the conference.

The Tar Heels and Cavaliers were gridlocked in the first half as neither wanted to forfeit their right to winning the ACC Tournament. With the score at 28-28 at halftime, though, someone had to step up for either team in the second half and that someone turned out to be the shocking hero in the ACC Tournament for the Tar Heels in guard Joel Berry.

Berry finished the ACC Tournament final with 19 points, all of them huge in what was largely a defensive battle, by going 5-8 from the field, 3-3 from long range, and 6-6 from the foul line. Berry’s heroics were enough to carry the Tar Heels to victory and make them the undisputed champs in the conference as they won both the regular season title and now the ACC Tournament title.

After North Carolina’s big win over Virginia in the final, let’s take a look at the updated bracket to see how everything played out this year in the ACC Tournament.

Though there were some impressive performances throughout, it’s the Tar Heels cutting down the nets in Washington DC as the No. 1 seed in the tourney. However, UNC has much bigger aspirations as they’re looking to add a national title to their credit as well.
