Josh Hagins forces overtime with unreal deep three vs Purdue (Video)
Arkansas Little-Rock completed an unreal comeback to force overtime with a last-second three
The Purdue Boilermakers seemed to have a berth in the Second Round of the 2016 NCAA Tournament all locked up against the No. 12 seed Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans as they were up by double-digits with less than four minutes left in the contest. As is always the case when it comes to March Madness, though, never count anything or any team out of it until the final buzzer sounds.
The Trojans went on an incredible run thanks to the play of guard Josh Hagins and to bring Little Rock within three points with only seconds on the clock. Hagins decided that he was going to complete the comeback on his own as, while still well behind the three-point arc, he took a dribble to his right and pulled up for a deep three with only seconds left on the clock. He drilled it:
That unbelievably clutch bucket tied the game at 70-70 and, after Purdue missed a last-second heave, forced overtime in this First Round game in the Midwest Region. It also capped off an incredible second half for Hagins.
Josh Hagins entered the second half only having contributed two points to the effort for Little Rock. He finished the second half with 19 points after that ridiculously deep three to force overtime. That kind of play, performance, and shot is what March Madness is all about.
