A look at the live scoring results from the NCAA Tournament First Round game between Arkansas-Little Rock vs Purdue.

The Purdue Boilermakers are a trendy pick to be the first team to knock off a No. 1 seed as they could potentially match up well with Virginia in the Sweet 16. The Boilermakers have to feel a little shafted by the NCAA selection committee since they made it all the way to the Big Ten Tournament title game, hung with the No. 2 ranked Michigan State Spartans and still were given a five seed.

Watch out for the post trio of A.J. Hammons, Isaac Haas and Caleb Swanigan. Hammons came back for his senior season to make a Final Four run, and he’s putting forth his best effort, averaging 14.9 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.4 blocks. Haas is adding 9.9 points and 3.8 rebounds and Swanigan contributes 10.4 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.

Don’t sleep on the Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans in the NCAA Tournament this season because they have one of the best records of any mid-major team in the field. Not only that, but the Trojans lost one game by more than six points this season and that was Big 12 tourney representative Texas Tech, 65-53. They even beat major snub and Mountain West regular season champ, San Diego State.

Arkansas-Little Rock isn’t exactly an offensive juggernaut, but it has a balanced attack starting with Josh Hagins and Marcus Johnson Jr. — they average 12.8 and 12.7 points per game, respectively. This team does, however, shoot nearly 40 percent from long-range as a team.
