A look at the live scoring results from the NCAA Tournament First Round game between Providence and USC.

It’s the moment that everyone has been waiting for on Thursday, as the NCAA Tournament gets underway with a full slate of games to kick off the first round of March Madness. One of the games taking place on Thursday, is the No. 8 USC Trojans taking on the No. 9 Providence Friars in Raleigh, North Carolina.

USC was one of the nice surprises in college basketball this season, but they ended their season on a downward slide as they lost six out of their last eight games. Despite the fact that their year ended on a slide, one win in the Pac-12 Conference Tournament was enough to sway the committee to give them a No. 8 seed.

The good thing for the Trojans is that they’ve had some strong victories on the season, including wins over the Wichita State Shockers and Arizona Wildcats. Providence meanwhile comes into the tournament led by dynamic point guard Kris Dunn. Dunn is widely seen by many as the best point guard in college basketball and he can dish out passes like none other.

The Trojans have a pretty talented guard themselves in Julian Jacobs, who also does a good job picking up assists and it should be a great duel between two guards and teams with plenty of depth.
