Live scoring updates for Yale Bulldogs vs Baylor Bears in the 2016 NCAA Tournament

The matchups between the No. 5 and 12 seeds in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament have traditionally been ripe for upsets. Even when fans don’t see it coming, they always tend to happen in these matchups. That could very well be the case on Thursday as the No. 5 Baylor Bears take on the No. 12 Yale Bulldogs.

Yale is in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in what is essentially eternity—or since 1962. That’s the type of thing that happens, though, when an Ivy League school can boast talent like that of Makai Mason, Justin Sears, and the dominant Brandon Sherrod. The Bulldogs are certainly not a team that Baylor should take lightly.

However, the Bears are filled to the brim with talent in their own right entering the 2016 NCAA Tournament as they are one of the longest and most athletic teams in college hoops. With players like Taurean Prince, Al Freeman, Rico Gathers, and several others that can take over a game or at least stretches of a game, Baylor can compete with literally any team in the country.

Baylor has been prone to being upset in years past, though, so seeing them in a 5-12 matchup against a talented Yale team is a bit disconcerting. Seeing if the Bears can avoid a letdown on Thursday will undoubtedly be one of the storylines to watch.
