Virginia is heading off to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament and here’s a look at the bracket
Well, one No. 1 seed in the 2016 NCAA Tournament is done playing on Thursday, and the good news is that they’re not the first team to ever drop a game to a No. 16 seed. The Virginia Cavaliers had a more than easy time with the Hampton Pirates on Thursday, coming away with the commanding 81-45 win.
Virginia got a good performance from Anthony Gill, who dropped in 19 points on the day. Player of the Year candidate Malcolm Brogdon also finished with double-digits in scoring, finishing the afternoon with 11.
So now, the Cavaliers will move on to Saturday where they will have a pretty tough task on their hands on the form of the Butler Bulldogs. Earlier in the day Butler came away with the 71-61 win over a very good Texas Tech team to advance and play one of the best teams in the ACC.
With Virginia moving on, here’s a look at the updated 2016 NCAA Tournament bracket.
Really, that Butler and Virginia match up should not disappoint. We’re getting one of the best defensive teams in the country in Virginia going up against a team that can shoot the lights out of the gym on any given night.
Are the Cavaliers in trouble or can they make it out of this one and advance to the Sweet 16?
