Predicting the upsets in the 2016 March Madness Bracket for the Second Round

The 2016 NCAA Tournament is underway and it is crazier than anyone could have expected. The term March Madness is interchangeable with the tournament at this point, but the insanity may have never reached the heights that it did in the First Round of this year’s tournament as the upsets were not only abundant, but were also incredibly major.

The biggest upset and one of the biggest upsets of all time came on Friday afternoon as the No. 15 seed Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders were able to sneak up on the No. 2 seed Michigan State Spartans int he First Round and upset one of the favorites to win it all this year. Not far behind them, the No. 14 Stephen F. Austin took on the No. 3 West Virginia Mountaineers and pulled off another major upset.

There were more upsets along the way as well, but the gist of the situation after the First Round is that things were crazy enough that 10 of the 32 remaining teams in March Madness have double-digit seed. That’s just a ton of huge upsets to happen in just two days. However, it could also indicate that there are even more major upsets on the horizon.

With little to no time until the Second Round of the tournament gets underway, the furious pace of upsets might not let up. Looking ahead at the potential upsets on Saturday and Sunday, these are the five upsets that I’m predicting in the Second Round of March Madness 2016.
