5. Sacramento Kings

The Kings have done everything they can to find the answer at shooting guard. They tried addressing the spot in recent drafts by selecting both Nik Stauskas and Ben McLemore, but neither of them has made the position their own. Buddy Hield could be just the scoring guard the Kings are looking for.

Sacramento’s desire to move Ben McLemore before the trade deadline was one of the worst kept secrets in the NBA. It’s clear that his days with the Kings are numbered, which means they’ll have a huge hole at the shooting guard position. Add in the fact Sacramento is desperate for a player who can help Boogie Cousins win now, and Hield seems like a perfect fit.

The biggest question is whether the Oklahoma star will last until Sacramento’s 10th pick. If they really want to secure his services, they might have to move up on draft night.

If Hield is still available when the Kings are on the clock, they would be crazy not to select the prolific scorer. We’re talking about the Kings here, so nothing can be ruled out, but Hield would give Sacramento the outside shooting it desperately needs.
