A look at the best Buddy Hield highlights from Oklahoma’s first half vs Oregon in the Elite Eight of March Madness

Anyone who has even remotely heard about college basketball this season could’ve told you that Buddy Hield would be a factor for the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday evening in their Elite Eight matchup against the Oregon Ducks. However, the thing with Buddy Hield is that you never know when he’s just going to absolutely take the floor and explode in terms of his offense. As it turns out, the first half against Oregon was one of those times.

Hield came right out of the gate firing for the Sooners and it was abundantly clear quickly that he was feeling it. He had 11 points in seemingly no time as he knocked down his first three attempts from long range and his one two-point attempt came on a beautiful made putback at the rim. However, the senior guard wasn’t done there and only continued to pour it on the Ducks.

In the first 20 minutes of action, Hield finished with 17 points, and three rebounds—all of them on the offensive end, for what it’s worth—while shooting 6-8 from the floor and a ridiculous 5-6 from long range. When Buddy Hield is in the zone like that on the offensive end of the floor, it doesn’t matter if you’re Oregon or the Golden State Warriors; all you can really do at that point is just shake your head and dream about maybe stopping him.

Here’s a look at Hield’s highlights from that masterful first half:
