The Villanova Wildcats defeated the Oklahoma Sooners to earn a spot in the National Championship Game.

On Saturday, the magic finally came to an end.

After a fantastic tournament and many magical moments with the Oklahoma Sooners, Buddy Hield could not overcome the lockdown defense of the Villanova Wildcats. From the very beginning, the Wildcats were all over the Oklahoma offense and the Sooners struggled to get anything going offensively.

On the flip side of things, Josh Hart could not miss and the Wildcats got off to a hot start. They quickly got out to a double digit lead and by the end of the half, they held Hield to single figures and they went up 14 with a 42-28 lead. Hield would sprint off the court and it was clear the Sooners had to change their game plan.

At the beginning of the second half, they would cut the Villanova lead to single digits and it looked like the magic was about to come back for the Sooners. Instead, Hart kept making shots along with with Kris Jenkins and the Wildcats would go on a 15-0 run, to increase their lead to 28 points.

Senior captain Ryan Arcidiacono would drill a three to make it an 18-0 run and suddenly the Wildcats were up 31 points. With the blowout in full effect, the Wildcats were shooting over 70 percent from the field and the Sooners had to just sit there and watch in stunned silence at the offensive and defensive clinic being put on.

Finally, the Villanova run would end at 25-0, after they built up a 38-point lead. To make matters worse for the Sooners, they would eventually fall down by 44 points. The Wildcats would make a big statement and show that they want to bring home a National Championship on Monday night.
