The North Carolina Tar Heels are slightly favored to beat the Villanova Wildcats in the 2016 NCAA National Championship Game on Monday night in Houston.

North Carolina is looking for its sixth national title in men’s college basketball, and it is favored to realize that dream against the second-seeded Villanova Wildcats. According to ESPN, the Tar Heels are laying two points in Las Vegas.

Both teams have been excellent throughout the campaign. In fact, North Carolina and Villanova have been ranked No. 1 in the country at different points in the season, something the Wildcats had never achieved in the history of the program. North Carolina earned a top seed in March Madness by winning the ACC Tournament, while Villanova was upset in the Big East by the Seton Hall Pirates.

North Carolina has ample talent in guard Marcus Paige and forward Brice Johnson, who already has recorded three games in the tournament of 20+ points and 10+ rebounds. Should the Tar Heels be cutting down the nets on Monday, it would be head coach Roy Williams’ third title at the school pushing him past Dean Smith’s two championships.

Villanova has not won a national championship since 1985 when the Wildcats pulled off a massive upset against Patrick Ewing and the Georgetown Hoyas.
