Villanova head coach Jay Wright reacted to the National Championship win in the most stone cold way possible.Â
When we all dream of reaching the pinnacle of our careers, we picture ourselves hopping around with our colleagues as we celebrate an achievement we’ve strived our whole lives to accomplish.
For Jay Wright, the height of his career was met with the most stone cold, absolute boss reactions that a human being could have in a moment like the one he was experiencing.
After allowing North Carolina to tie the National Championship game late, Wright watched as his team raced down he court and drained a buzzer beating three-pointer to claim the program’s second ever national title. Rather than hope around like he’s never been there before — which would have been fitting since Wright never has — he remained cold as steel, and it was amazing.
Here’s Wright’s reaction to the biggest shot he’s ever watched one of his players take:
That’s a man who is in control. That right there is someone who knew they were going to win all along and isn’t surprised in the slightest that it happened.
Wright was plugging Dove in commercials a few March Madnesses ago, and now he’s on the top of the world. You might be crushed that North Carolina blew what would have been an incredible comeback, but there’s now denying that this is probably the coldest celebration we’ve ever seen in a National Championship game.
Philly, represent.
