Villanova defeats North Carolina in National Championship game: Twitter reacts
A look at the reaction to the National Championship game between Villanova and North Carolina.
The National Championship game saw the No. 2 Villanova Wildcats and No. 1 North Carolina Tar Heels battle.
The last minutes of the game saw North Carolina inching back and staying just behind Villanova, who had the lead. Then UNC guard Marcus Paige hit a three-pointer with just seconds remaining to tie the game at 74.
However, Villanova had one more chance. They took the ball up the court quickly and guard Kris Jenkins received the pass. As he was a few feet from the three-point line, Jenkins took the last-second shot as time expired and it went in to give the Wildcats the victory and the 2016 National Championship. It was an absolutely unbelievable finish that will go down as one of the best moments in NCAA Tournament history.

This was a fantastic National Championship game that will be one for the record books. It also capped off a great NCAA Tournament that had a ton of drama throughout. Big teams dropped out early and the buzzer-beaters were all over the place, with Monday night’s ending topping the list.
