With the most exciting young team in the NBA, overflowing with immediate talent and future potential, maybe the addition of a head coach like Tom Thibodeau can get them there in the next five years.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical, the Timberwolves are closing in on a five-year deal to add Thibs as their president of basketball operations and head coach.
Even though nothing is official yet, Timberwolves fans have every reason to be excited. When it’s Wojnarowski doing the reporting and Thibodeau is the coach in question, the future looks even brighter in Minnesota.
Thibodeau is the kind of defensive coach that should flourish with the Timberwolves. From Karl-Anthony Towns in the paint to Andrew Wiggins on the perimeter, there’s so much potential to further unleash.
In fact, if Thibodeau is hired, it will merely be a comeback for him — he started his NBA coaching career as an assistant with the T-Wolves back in 1989-91.
