Identifying the top high-salary and value second baseman plays from around Major League Baseball for your June 24 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Jean Segura, Diamondbacks (5,000): Segura, whose price generally hovers in the mid-3,000 range, has gotten the old “Coors Field increase” for Arizona’s road series at Colorado. He’s pricey, but could be in line for a nice game Friday against Rockies rookie left-hander Tyler Anderson. The Diamondbacks have the second-highest team average against lefties this season (.282).

Jose Altuve, Astros (4,800): Altuve just keeps chugging along. He’s hit safely in five straight games and 12 of his last 13 games overall. He’s 3-for-7 in his career against Kansas City Royals righty Edinson Volquez, and he’s hitting .339 against righties this season. Altuve is always a strong play, and Friday is no different.

High Value

Jonathan Schoop, Orioles (3,600): Schoop is quietly putting together a breakout season for the first-place Orioles. He has 11 hits overall in his last five games, and has also hit safely in 12 of his last 13 games. The Baltimore offense should be able to do some damage against Tampa Bay Rays left-hander Matt Moore (3-4, 4.90 ERA), against whom Schoop is 3-for-6 in his career.

Next: Best Starting Pitchers in MLB History

Starlin Castro, Yankees (3,300): Castro has made a habit out of being either really good or, well … not really good. It’s this boom-or-bust nature that makes him better suited for GPPs, but his matchup Friday with Minnesota Twins lefty Tommy Milone (0-1, 5.79 ERA) could be an ideal “boom” game. He’s worth consideration, especially for tournaments.
