Looking at tonight’s slate of nine baseball games, it can be daunting to decide who deserves a place in your MLB DFS lineup. Knowing which star player is worth the money can be the difference between a winning night and one that ends in failure. However, finding the hidden gems that perform well are equally as important because they can let you spend more on your starting pitchers. This article will touch on one expensive player who is primed to have a big night, and one cheap player whom you wouldn’t normally play but is a great play tonight.

Past Plays:

6/27:Mike Trout:3/4, 1 HR, 2B, 2R’s 1 RBI

6/28:Josh Donaldson:2/5,  3B,BB,3 RBI’s,1R

MLB DFS: The Stud of the Day: Nolan Arenado, 3B ($5,400 DK, $4,400 FD)

Whenever the Rockies play at Coors Field at least one of their big time bats should find their way into your lineups. Today’s stud of the day is the Rockies all-star third baseman, Nolan Arenado, who is having another amazing season. While Arenado is arguably the second best third baseman in baseball, (Josh Donaldson being #1,) he is by far the best position player in terms of fantasy for tonight.

After a tough series against the Giants, the Rockies now find themselves back in Denver and facing off against Adam Morgan and the Phillies. Morgan quite simply cannot get right-handed batters out, and should get mauled by the very potent right-handed bats in the Rockies lineup, lead by Arenado. Here are the respective splits for Morgan vs. RHB and Arenado vs. LHP,

Morgan vs. RHB on the Road: 100 Batters faced- .304 AVG, 8 2B’s, 4 HR’s

Arenado vs. LHP at Home: 41 AB’s- .366 AVG, 4 2B’s, 3 HR’s, 12 R’s, 8 RBI’s

As you can see game should get ugly for the Phillies early as Arenado, Trevor Story, and DJ LeMahieu, should make life miserable for Morgan. If you can fit all three of them I would go for it, if not make sure Arenado is in your lineup!

MLB DFS: The Steal of the Day: Miguel Cabrera, 1B ($3,800 DK, $3,300 FD)

Now I know what you’re thinking and yes Miguel Cabrera is 100% a star in Major League Baseball, however he isn’t priced like one today which makes him a steal. I tried to figure out why Miggy was so low on the first baseman list and no matter how hard I try, I just can’t comprehend it. Facing off against Drew Hutchison and the Blue Jays, Cabrera is in line for a big game and at his price point is a must in your lineups.

More from FanSided

Hutchison has barely pitched this season, (6.2 IP) and has not been good when he has taken the mound. The Tigers star-studded lineup should really put a beating on him tonight and all of the big right-handed bats for Detroit should be in play. While he may be highly owned due to the price, I wouldn’t try to get cute with your first baseman, Miggy is the play tonight.

While normally I only do one steal of the day, Steven Moya ($2,900 DK) is also in a very good spot to succeed against Hutchison tonight and I would strongly suggest fitting him into your lineups.
