Here’s what you need to be talking about in the world of the NFL.

Joey Bosa is either a total noob or an absolute genius. Maybe he’s neither and somewhere in-between but what’s happening out in San Diego is remarkable for a number of reasons — not the least of which is that it highlights what a disaster the Chargers are.

Everyone and their mother has been trolling Bosa for not accepting the Chargers offer to him, and regardless of how he views the deal this is as much on San Diego as it is on the rookie for causing this mess.

Sure, Bosa is a tool for trying to suck as much money out of this deal as possible — but isn’t that what all players in all professional leagues try to do? Mike Conley is the second highest paid player in the NBA and he’s never been to an All-Star Game or the NBA Finals. He’s never been in the running for MVP and he’s not even the best player at his position.

Bosa may come off as a tool for the way he’s acted this whole process but let’s be real, this is mostly on the Chargers. There’s no way that they shouldn’t have realized this might have been a problem well before sending that card to the podium on Draft night. It’s inexcusable and the fact that they may have had the No. 3 overall pick in last years draft and end up with nothing to show for it is comically painful.

Speaking of painful, Roberto ‘Automatic’ Aguayo is anything but down in Tampa. The dude is kicking the ball left of center or directly into his own line and the act is wearing thin. I’m in the minority of Bucs fans — all six of us — that believes this will all end well. That somehow he’s going to overcome his yips and become a Janikowski-level player.

But the fact that you traded up for a guy who has already psyched himself out isn’t a glowing endorsement that this new regime in Tampa will figure things out. There was an era not that long ago when the team thought it had a franchise quarterback, a powerful running game and a solid defense. That Josh Freeman-led, Raheem Morris coached disaster didn’t end well, especially with Mark Dominik in charge. Hopefully, for Bucs fans longing for the glory days of the early 2000s, things will work themselves out before another potential era is soiled.

Of course, nothing speaks to front office incompetence quite like the Cleveland Browns. The team traded former No. 6 overall pick Barkeviovs Mingo to the Patriots on Thursday, meaning he’s probably going to the Pro Bowl this year.

The Browns have made a handful of first round picks of the last five years and now have basically only one player to show for it. When Justin Gilbert is the only first rounder that you drafted still on your team after five years of trying, it might be time to pack it in. New regime, same old problems.
