Russell Westbrook has had a lot to celebrate recently, but National Dog Day brings out the dancer in him like nothing else.

Russell Westbrook is arguably the best guard in the NBA. He recently signed a huge extension with the Oklahoma City Thunder, cementing his legacy with the organization. He has had many reasons to celebrate recently, and on Friday, he added one more to the list.

Westbrook is a known dog lover, and his dog Brodie is a social media darling. On Friday, which is known as National Dog Day, Westbrook danced with his little buddy. It was just another indication of how fun Westbrook is off the court.

Westbrook is always taking to snapchat to show off his goofy side, making him one of the more likable players in the NBA.

He is the main man in Oklahoma City heading into the 2016-17 season, as fellow superstar Kevin Durant bolted to the Golden State Warriors this off-season. Expect to follow suit, Westbrook fooled everyone, signing an extension to play for the only team he has ever been a part of.

Durant signing with the Warriors also came as a bit of shock, as the tandem of Westbrook and Durant nearly eliminated Golden State last season in the Western Conference Finals. Durant will now go from teammate to rival, and the entire state of Oklahoma now hates Durant.

Angry fans recently started a petition to change the name of Durant, Oklahoma to Westbrook, Oklahoma. According to the petition, Durant betrayed the state, and they do not want to see a map with his name on it.

“Durant has betrayed us. I can’t even look at our beautiful state map without being reminded of what he did to us. You must make this right.”

The Warriors and Thunder will not have to wait long for their first match up, as the two teams play on November 3rd at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. The first time Durant will come back to Oklahoma City will be on Februrary 11, 2017, so expect the fans to be rocking that night.
