Throughout the last week or so NBA players have released their NBA 2k17 ratings on Twitter. While many of the players have expressed feelings that their ratings were low, there hasn’t been a sense that it will keep players from playing the game anyway. Except for Andrew Wiggins, whose response to a fan complaining about his rating made it clear how little he cares.

First of all, based on the way 2k does ratings now 84 seems fair for Wiggins. With ratings generated on an all-time scale, Wiggins isn’t in the top-tier players in the league. While his potential may eventually get him there, 84 actually seems generous.

Either way, Wiggins reacting with a simple “I play Call of Duty anyway” is just perfect. Remember, it was not long ago that Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns went to the COD studio to play the game.

Hopefully this turns into some type of sponsorship thing for Wiggins. While Wiggins surely does play some NBA 2k, the fact that he pushes it aside for Call of Duty should be something COD capitalizes on.

Either way it is hard to believe that Wiggins won’t jump onto 2k if he plays well enough to earn an upgrade. At a certain point it just has to be hard to not play with your virtual self and dominate. Though considering the Wolves probably all play each other it might not be often Wiggins plays as himself anyway.
