Week 3 Fantasy Football will be a pivotal one for many owners. The outcome of this weekends games will put some teams at the dreaded 0-3 mark. Who would have thought some of the players listed in these rankings would be having such amazing seasons? Some players have been pleasant surprises while others have been bitter disappointments. I am going to list some of the players who I felt got snubbed by Fantasy Pros ECR as well as players who I have ranked higher or lower than average.

Week 3 Fantasy Football Quarterbacks:

I have Carson Palmer as by 5th best QB this week. The ECR had him down at 8, which I think is ridiculous. The Buffalo Bills could not stop the Jets pass attack last week. I do not see the Bills defense slowing down the Cardinals offense. Carson Palmer and the Cardinals will move the ball against the lackluster Bills. The Cardinals have all the tools needed to put up serious numbers against the Bills this week.

I dropped Andrew Luck from 2nd in the ECR to 7th. The Chargers may not seem like a formidable opponent but the Colts have not looked great either. Luck will be without  Donte Moncrief, who is slated miss 4-6 weeks with an injury. Luck will most likely have a good week but I can’t see him scoring more than QB’s with more favorable match ups. Some are anticipating him to really tear up the Chargers this week, I am not so sure he will have a great deal of success. The Colts are not a good team.

Week 3 Fantasy Football Running Backs:

My rankings for RB’s were fairly in line with the ECR’s. One situation to monitor is the Kansas City Chiefs backfield. If Jamaal Charles doesn’t play, Spencer Ware is a legit RB1 this week. If Charles plays Ware’s value drops. Even if Charles plays, I’m doubting the Chiefs give Charles the lions share of work this week. I personally do not feel comfortable starting Charles this week.

I dropped Ezekiel Elliot to 7th in my rankings. I feel like he has not really shown enough to warrant being the 4th ranked RB against the Bears. I also dropped LeSean McCoy to 11th from his ECR rank 7th. What do people think he is going to do against the Cardinals? Are people foolish enough to believe that the Bills offense is going to be in some sort of game against the Cardinals?

DeAngelo Williams is the 2nd ranked RB this week. It will be the last week that he will have sole possession of the Steelers backfield. It will be interesting to see how the backfield situation emerges in when Le’Veon Bell is back in Week 4.  Bell was an extremely productive back before his injuries and if he stays healthy a premier back in the NFL.

Week 3 Fantasy Football Wide Receivers:

Many of the elite wide receivers have interesting match ups this week. Antonio Brown looks to rebound off a very pedestrian performance, Odell Beckham Jr. faces off against his nemesis in Josh Norman and Julio Jones is facing off against the rival Saints. DeAndre Hopkins will look to impress Thursday night against the Patriots.

I dropped Brandin Cooks from 6th in the rankings to 9th. I am personally not a big Brandin Cooks fan. Cooks has two more targets then Willie Snead (19 to 17) and one less catch (13 to 14). The match up against the Falcons is juicy but I don’t get the extreme amount of love for Cooks as a fantasy receiver.  He will produce something this week, but I find he is FAR behind the upper echelon of fantasy WR.

Week 3 Fantasy Football Tight Ends:

I put Greg Olsen above Jordan Reed as the number one Tight End this week. Cam Newton loves throwing the ball to Greg Olsen. It seems as if every week has the potential for Olsen to have a big week.

More from Fantasy

It is worth monitoring Antonio Gates if you have him on your fantasy teams. There are reports he may not play this weekend. It is important that you have a backup option in mind in case Gates can not play Sunday.

I am a big believer in Dennis Pitta. I find it is hard to find consistency at Tight End. Touchdowns come and go but weekly yardage is a huge plus. Pitta and Joe Flacco have shown they have chemistry. If you are in need of a tight end and Pitta is available it would be wise to scoop him off the waiver wire.

It will be interesting to see who emerges from Week 3 with stellar fantasy performances. It is a pivotal time in the season . Players like Eddie Lacy need to give owners a reason to keep faith. Players like Melvin Gordon look to continue to exceed their ADP and make their fantasy owners very happy. The only thing for certain is that it will be an exciting weekend of action, I cannot wait for Sunday!
