North Carolina pulled out a last-second victory over Pittsburgh in their game on Saturday.

On Saturday, one of the many ACC games that took place featured the North Carolina Tar Heels taking on the Pittsburgh Panthers. Neither team came into this ranked, but both held a 2-1 record.

UNC struggled to contain Pitt’s stout rushing attack throughout, allowing 281 yards and four touchdowns. Quadree Henderson led the way with nine carries for 106 yards.

However, the Tar Heels were able to overcome this and a 10-point deficit in the finals moments of the game.

At Pitt’s three-yard line with just seconds to go, quarterback Mitch Trubisky put a pass up for grabs in the end zone which wide receiver Bug Howard came down with for the touchdown. This came with the clock at just two seconds, leading to UNC winning the game, 37-36. The win got them to 3-1, while the Panthers fell to 2-2.

A look at the play can be seen below.

It should be noted that North Carolina also had three fourth down conversions on this drive.

That’s an impressive effort from Howard, who used his size to box out the defender and pull down the football. He also had another touchdown catch earlier in the game to go with 66 yards.

Trubisky had been the one of the stars of this game, though. He led UNC with 453 yards and five touchdown passes. 35 of 46 passes were completed too.

UNC’s Ryan Switzer was the other top performer, as he pulled in 16 receptions for 208 yards and a touchdown. This is a carry over from his first 100-yard game of the season against James Madison.
