Kris Bryant beat out a throw to the plate to give the Cubs a 2-1 lead.

The 2016 World Series is in Game 7 on Wednesday night. The Cleveland Indians had a 3-1 lead going into Game 5 but dropped the next two games to the Chicago Cubs. So the pivotal game would get played on November 2 to settle the score.

The Cubs opened the game with a home run from Dexter Fowler. The Indians then tied it up shortly after with a base hit from Carlos Santana. They had another chance at scoring a run, but pitcher Kyle Hendricks limited the damage.

In the fourth inning, Indians pitcher Corey Kluber faced a rough situation. He had Kris Bryant on third base and Ben Zobrist on first with just one out. Addison Russell then hit a pop fly to shallow left-center field, but Bryant decided to test the arm of outfielder Rajai Davis. The star third baseman would bolt home and slide underneath a high throw to give the Cubs a 2-1 lead.

The Cubs would tack on another run with a Willson Contreras double to make the score 3-1 in Game 7 of the World Series.

Kluber has allowed hard hits throughout the first few innings, so his leash is likely short. The Indians can’t afford to give up more runs to this powerful Cubs offense, and may have to keep them intact with a strong bullpen, which is led by Andrew Miller.
