College Football Picks Against The Spread Early November 12

College football can be a fickle beast. It is still easier to pick against the spread than the NFL, but when you pick every game, it can get tough. I struggled a little bit, okay a lot,  last week so I still have a big hole to dig myself out of.

More from College Football Odds

In case you don’t know what I do here, I pick every college football game of the season. Against the spread. Trust me, it’s not as easy as it sounds! I take the average of the odds from all of the Vegas casinos. I then round to the nearest half. There will be no ties here. Ties are for the other football (soccer).

This contains the picks for FBS vs. FBS games only. It is too hard to get an accurate spread on games that involve 1-AA teams.

I will assign a point value “bet” on each game, between one and five points. That way you can see just how confident I am in each pick. Look for those at the end of each line.

This is for entertainment purposes only! I cannot be responsible for you losing any of your worldly possessions (or limbs) because of my picks. These are a guideline that you can use to help you with your picks. I am a simple man. I can’t have that on my conscience.

We have another 58 games this weekend this weekend, with 50 of them taking place on Saturday. I need a great final month to even make this year respectable. No time like the present, right?

Let’s get to the early Saturday picks for the week!

Baylor at (11)Oklahoma(-17.5)(4): Okay, losing to Texas in Austin can be forgiven. Losing at home to at struggling TCU team by 40 with your star running back getting so upset that he shoves a coach during the game? That can not. This line is way too low. Baylor has the NCAA breathing down their neck and internal turmoil. This will get ugly. Give me Oklahoma.

Mississippi State at (1)Alabama(-29.5)(3): Beating Texas A&M at home with half the game played by a backup quarterback is one thing. Beating Bama in Tuscaloosa just isn’t going to happen. It wont be close, either. Give me Bama.

South Carolina at Florida(-11.5)(2): All of the sudden, this looks like an interesting game. The Gamecocks have been much better since switching quarterbacks, and Florida quarterback Luke Del Rio is out again. How much do I trust a true freshman QB in the Swamp? Not just a true freshman, but a 17-year-old? Not much. That said, I think this stays a one score game. Give me The Cocks.

Kentucky at Tennessee(-13.5)(2): Was Jalen Hurd really that much of a cancer to this team? He wasn’t the only problem. This line looks too high. Give me Kentucky.

Cincinnati at Central Florida(-11.5)(2): The Knights have looked really good lately. Cincinnati? Not so much. Give me UCF at home.

SMU at East Carolina(-6.5)(3): The loser of this one is going to have a tougher road to a bowl game. After seeing what Memphis did to the Ponies in Dallas last week, this looks really low. Give me ECU.

Tulsa at Navy(-1.5)(4): Hmmm….nope. Tulsa straight up. That offense is legit.

Iowa State(-10.5) at Kansas(3): I know the college football world will be watching to see which team will go winless in the Big 12(10). It promises to be captivating. And not very close. Give me Iowa State.

(16)West Virginia at Texas(-1.5)(3): Is Texas really this much improved? They beat a Baylor team that was falling apart. I have to go with West Virginia here, but if this game were two weeks ago, I would have put five on it. I’m a bit nervous now.

Rutgers at Michigan State(-14.5)(2): Oh really? This is too many. Rutgers is actually outplaying Sparty right now. I don’t think Rutgers wins outright, but they will keep this close for most of the afternoon. Give me Rutgers.

(10)Penn State(-6.5) at Indiana(4): I thought this looked like a trap game. It turns out the bettors do too. Penn State just has too much talent to not shred the Indiana D. Give me Penn State.

Northwestern(-13.5) at Purdue(3): The Boilermakers have played better football lately, but Northwestern is one of those teams that is sneaky good. They do a lot of things right, and they don’t beat themselves. Give me Northwestern.

North Carolina State(-4.5) at Syracuse(3): This line isn’t on many boards right now, and when it is, it is all over the place. This has to do with the uncertain status of Syracuse QB Eric Dungey. Even if he plays, I’m taking the Wolfpack. Get it for this line if you can because I feel like Dungey will be very limited if he can even take the field.

Miami(OH)(-10.5) at Buffalo(3): The Bulls are much better at home, but they still can’t stop the run. Or a team that has won four in a row. Give me the Redhawks.

Rice at Charlotte(-10.5)(1): Okay Charlotte, you win. You are no longer easy money to get covered, and Rice may be the worst team I have seen all year. Give me Charlotte!

Miami(FL)(-10.5) at Virginia(1): I don’t like the half, nor do I believe in the team trying to cover that half. Give me Virginia.

Louisiana-Monroe at Georgia State(-12.5)(2): This looks high considering Monroe just took down South Alabama last week. I highly doubt the Panthers are two scores better than anyone right now. Give me Monroe.
