DraftKings NBA Picks for November 11

First off, I want to thank all of the current or former military people on this Veteran’s Day. One day isn’t enough to convey our gratitude, but I want you all to know that we here at Fantasy CPR appreciate the sacrifices that you and your family make to protect our freedom.

We have eight games tonight, which puts about half of the league in action. Who should we use to anchor our DraftKings lineup? We have plenty of choices to spend on tonight!

More from DFS

DraftKings is making one very important change for the 2016-2017 season. For some strange reason, they gave up their only advantage over FanDuel for NBA games. DraftKings decided to lock ALL games when the contest starts just as FanDuel does.

The big difference now between FanDuel and DraftKings is the lineups. FanDuel has one more slot, but you are confined to two of every position except center, where you get one. On DraftKings, you get a starting five plus a G, F, and UTIL. This is still an advantage over FanDuel because we can play two centers even though the roster is smaller!

Sound like fun? If you would like to try DraftKings for the first time, use this link for the referral bonus! It is good for a free entry into the Fantasy Football Millionaire contest. We have plenty of advice on the site to help you turn that free entry into a solid bankroll!

Point Guards

Best Bets:

John Wall ($9,000): Russell Westbrook has not topped 5x value in any of his last three games. He is still producing, but not at what his price suggests. Wall also has a bit better matchup in Cleveland than Westbrook does with the Clippers. His chances of seeing 5x value are much better.

Chris Paul ($8,900): When Paul gets a full load of minutes, he has had no problem hitting 6x value. The problem is the Clippers have been involved in a few blowouts already, so they rest him when they can. The game tonight should be close, so expect Paul in the high 40’s to low 50’s for DraftKings points, making him worth the money.

Honorable Mention:

Kyrie Irving ($7,700): Irving kind of gets lost in the shuffle when talking about the elite point guards of the league, yet he is mostly very consistent with his production. He only has one game in which he didn’t score at least 33 DraftKings points. The only outlier was his dreadful 3-17 shooting night against the 76ers back on November 5th. Those nights wont happen very often.

Kemba Walker ($7,500): Walker has averaged a cool 40.6 DraftKings points so far this year, which has him averaging nearly 5.5x value. Over the last two games he has been even better, picking up 94.75 DraftKings points. Toronto has given up the second most fantasy points to point guards so far this year, so Walker could end up being a huge bargain.

Dark Horses:

Derrick Rose ($5,900): Most of what you hear about Rose is how he is a shadow of his former self. So is his price in DFS. At this price, Rose only needs 29.5 DraftKings points to reach 5x value. He has hit that four of his last five times on the court. Rose should have no problem hitting that tonight against a Boston team that has allowed the sixth most fantasy points to point guards.

Sergio Rodriguez ($5,100): Rodriguez was a horrific 1-14 from the floor against the Pacers on Wednesday. That hurt a lot of people in daily circles since the Pacers statistically have not be stingy against opposing point guards. He gets that same Pacers team tonight. Will things be different with George Hill back? Can he possibly be that bad again? At this price it may be worth finding out since he wont be widely used.

My pick: Walker(PG)

Nov 4, 2016; Salt Lake City, UT, USA; San Antonio Spurs center Dewayne Dedmon (3) defends against the shot of Utah Jazz guard Rodney Hood (5) during the second half at Vivint Smart Home Arena. San Antonio won 100-86. Mandatory Credit: Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

Shooting Guards

Best Bets:

DeMar DeRozan ($8,200): DeRozan lit up the Thunder on Wednesday, which is nothing new for this year. The Hornets have allowed the third most points to opposing shooting guards this year. This looks like a recipe for another huge night for DeRozan.

Avery Bradley ($7,000): How good has Avery Bradley been this year? Fans were disappointed when he only put up 34.75 DraftKings points on Wednesday night. That is still 5x value, but he has been above that in all but one game so far this year. This looks like another against the Knicks.

Honorable Mention:

Rodney Hood ($5,800): Hood has shot 50% or better from the field in every game this month! His hot shooting had made him an easy lock for 6x value just about every night. Until he cools off, he is one of the better values on the board. Of course, if he goes cold when you play him, you are likely out your entry fee.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope ($5,000): KCP lit up the Suns on Wednesday, bouncing back nicely from an ugly night against the Clippers. He is a great play when the matchup is right. The aging Spurs don’t defend as well as they used to. Don’t expect a big outburst tonight, but 6x value is certainly a possibility.

Dark Horses:

Danny Green ($4,000): He is starting for a good team, and is an expert marksman from beyond the arc. Green picked up 26 minutes against Houston in his season debut, and eclipsed 6x value. He is criminally cheap right now, even if he wont get a ton of open shots against Detroit.

Iman Shumpert ($3,300): Shumpert is mostly a defensive specialist, but he still has value on DraftKings. He only needs 16.5 points to reach 5x value, a mark that he has topped in five of seven games this year. With J.R. Smith ice cold from the field, Shumpert has even seen some shot attempts come his way. He is one of the lowest risk options for cheap players.

My pick: Hood(SG), Green(G)

Small Forwards

Best Bets:

LeBron James ($10,200): As far as high priced options go, the King is one of the safest. He has not been below 40 DraftKings points in any game this year, but he also has one of the lower ceilings. He doesn’t need to do everything like Russell Westbrook or James Harden, so he doesn’t. He is content to get his 5x value and the win.

Rudy Gay ($7,300): As far as straight value goes, Gay is almost always a lock for 5x. He is always between 35 and 42 DraftKings points. That translates better for cash games than if you’re trying to take down a tournament, but that kind of consistency is valuable.

Honorable Mention:

Kawhi Leonard ($9,100): He is the alpha and omega of the Spurs right now. His high usage rate and sheer number of shots virtually guarantee he wont be a bust. The Pistons defend well, so 5x value could be difficult to come by. That leaves him just short of a top option.

Gordon Hayward ($7,200): Hayward has put up 117.75 DraftKings points in his three games so far this year. That leaves him very close to 6x value. He is also going against an Orlando team that has given up the fifth most fantasy points to small forwards. This could be another big game for Hayward!

Dark Horses:

Nicolas Batum ($6,100): Batum had his worst game of the season on Wednesday, but should bounce back nicely against a Toronto team allowing the third most fantasy points to small forwards. He couldn’t find his shot against the Jazz and he still posted over 20 DraftKings points. That shouldn’t be an issue tonight.

Robert Covington ($5,200): Covington’s miserable start seems to be over. He racked up 38.5 DraftKings points against this same Pacers team on Wednesday. There is no reason to think he wont do the same at home tonight.

My pick: Hayward(SF), Covington(F)

Power Forwards

Best Bet:

Blake Griffin ($8,500): The Clippers have been involved in a few blowouts already, but Griffin has been such a big part of making the game a blowout that his stats haven’t suffered despite the minutes being down. Griffin has 134 DraftKings points in his last three games. Now he gets to take on a Thunder team that has had issues with power forwards. It looks like another good game for Griffin.

Kristaps Porzingis ($7,300): His price is still affected by his terrible start, but now that Rose and Melo are realizing the big man can ball, they are getting him involved more. Porzingis has three straight games with over 20 points, and has reached 5x value or more in all of those.

Honorable Mention:

Kevin Love ($7,600): The Cavs are a much better team in the early going this year. Love has reached 5x value in all but one game this season. He continues to be an underrated option because he has a relatively low ceiling, but that floor is pretty high. He projects better for cash games, but he certainly wont hurt you in a tournament either.

Derrick Favors ($6,200): Favors has played over 30 minutes in each of the last two games, so it appears that the minutes restriction is off. His production has showed. Favors has 78 DraftKings points over those two games, making him one of the best values around right now.

Dark Horse:

Dario Saric ($4,800): Saric torched the Pacers for 38.5 DraftKings points on Wednesday, but he also played a season high in minutes. If he can get 34 minutes again, another line like that is not out of the realm of possibility. His minutes have been far from a sure thing though.

Domantas Sabonis ($4,200): Sabonis has seen his minutes nearly double since Ersan Ilyasova was dealt. His production is not consistent, but he only needs 21 DraftKings points for 5x value. He has that in three of four games since the Ilyasova deal.

My pick: Griffin(PF), Favors(UTIL)

Center

Best Bets:

Andre Drummond ($7,400): Drummond has 52 points and 46 rebounds over his last two games. He has been dominating the interior lately. The Spurs aren’t real strong on the inside, so expect Drummond’s recent hot streak to continue.

DeAndre Jordan ($6,600): Like many of the Clippers, the limited minutes in some games so far has limited his fantasy value. It has also kept their prices down. With a full compliment of minutes likely against the Thunder, there could be a lot of value on the Clippers team tonight. Jordan is one of the better ones.

Honorable Mention:

Joel Embiid ($5,900): The Sixers are still limiting his minutes and hold him out of back to back games, but Embiid has still produced an average of 5.5x value every game. He will likely be held out of Saturday on this back to back since he sat Wednesday, but check to make sure before lineups lock if you use him.

Steven Adams ($5,600): Despite the talent in the middle, the Clippers have still allowed the seventh most fantasy points to centers. Adams has topped 5x value with ease against any team that is in the bottom third of points allowed to centers. Will that trend continue?

Dark Horses:

Cody Zeller ($4,000): The Raptors are the worst in the league fantasy wise against centers, and that is even when Jonas Valanciunas plays. He could be out again tonight leaving Jakob Poeltl to man the middle. At any rate, that makes Zeller and Spencer Hawes great bargain players tonight.

Al Jefferson ($3,700): Jefferson has still put up more than 20 DraftKings points in each of the last three games despite playing 20 minutes or less in all of them. He has been a beast off the bench for the Pacers, and is a safe punt pick if you need to go cheap.

My pick: Adams(C)
