College Football Picks Against The Spread Early November 19

College football can be a fickle beast. It is still easier to pick against the spread than the NFL, but when you pick every game, it can get tough. I was marginally better last week (I know….big surprise) so I still have a big hole to dig myself out of.

More from College Football Odds

In case you don’t know what I do here, I pick every college football game of the season. Against the spread. Trust me, it’s not as easy as it sounds! I take the average of the odds from all of the Vegas casinos. I then round to the nearest half. There will be no ties here. Ties are for the other football (soccer).

This contains the picks for FBS vs. FBS games only. It is too hard to get an accurate spread on games that involve 1-AA teams. That means you will see few SEC teams this week due to their annual November cupcake weekend.

I will assign a point value “bet” on each game, between one and five points. That way you can see just how confident I am in each pick. Look for those at the end of each line.

This is for entertainment purposes only! I cannot be responsible for you losing any of your worldly possessions (or limbs) because of my picks. These are a guideline that you can use to help you with your picks. I am a simple man. I can’t have that on my conscience.

We have another 58 game weekend this week. I need to get at least 35 of them. 18 games kick off between noon and 3 pm eastern. Let’s start with those!

UTSA at (25)Texas A&M(-27.5)(1): A&M’s defense is one of the better ones that you will see, but can they really run off with this with a second string quarterback? The Roadrunners are a .500 team (and therefore, better than me), so they aren’t terrible. Give me UTSA.

Kansas State(-2.5) at Baylor(2): The Bears say Shock Linwood will be allowed to play, but they are still without Seth Russell. I’m not a believer in the defense, and Kansas State is nothing special, but they are solid. I’m a bit surprised to see them favored in Waco, but they likely should be. Give me K-State.

Louisiana-Lafayette at Georgia(-22.5)(2): Georgia looked decent against a very good Auburn defense. They should be able to cover this at home.

UTEP at Rice(-1.5)(3): Rice beating Charlotte was a fluke. This line opened with UTEP favored, and should have stayed that way. Miners straight up.

(11)Oklahoma State at TCU(-4.5)(5): Okay, I know the rankings are mostly pointless, but this seems ridiculous. Even more ridiculous is that the line is up 1.5 points! Even if TCU manages to win this, it wont be by more than a field goal. I like the Cowboys straight up by at least a touchdown.

(2)Ohio State(-21.5) at Michigan State(3): Crazy things happen in road games, especially in conference road games. Just ask Michigan. However, Urban Meyer loves revenge. The Buckeyes are still smarting from Sparty taking their playoff spot. They are going to kick them while they are down. This gets ugly. Give me Ohio State.

Iowa(-9.5) at Illinois(3): I’m not willing to say that Iowa is back, but their defense is good and Illlinois’s offense is awful. I’ve seen it first hand. Give me Iowa.

Maryland at (18)Nebraska(-13.5)(5): I don’t care if you played this game in the middle of the National Mall with former Maryland coach Ralph Friedgen at QB for the Turtles, Nebraska isn’t covering this. Unless Nebraska runs the ball 70 times, they have no shot at covering. I think they win, but Tommy Armstrong is light years ahead of where Ryker Fife is. I wont say Maryland wins outright, but Nebraska wont cover with Fife at QB.

(7)Wisconsin(-27.5) at Purdue(3): Well, Purdue just had four players suspended from a team that wasn’t very good to begin with. Give me Wisconsin.

Virginia at Georgia Tech(-10.5)(3): This looks low. The Hoos have looked lost the last couple of weeks, and Georgia Tech just did a number on Virginia Tech. I’ll take the Bees.

Miami(-2.5) at North Carolina State(3): This looks a little bit low. I like the Wolfpack, especially RB Matt Dayes, but I don’t think they have the defense to pull out the win. Give me Miami.

(23)Florida at (16)LSU(-14.5)(2): Florida got shafted with the rescheduling of this game, losing a home game. They are also missing Luke Del Rio again. However, this line looks at least a half point too high. Florida’s defense is good. Good enough to keep this within ten or so. Give me the Gators.

Connecticut at Boston College(-7.5)(3): Uhhh……no. The Eagles aren’t beating anyone by two scores. Give me UConn.

Middle Tennessee State(-4.5) at Charlotte(1): Without Brent Stockstill, this is a tough order for the Blue Raiders. I have the feeling that Charlotte wins this outright. Would I bet on it? Not a chance. Since I have to pick though, I’m taking Charlotte.

Massachusetts at BYU(-28.5)(1): Wow, that’s a lot of points. Especially if Jamaal Williams doesn’t play. Why would he? Expect the Cougars to save him until they need him. BYU wins, but doesn’t cover.

Oregon at (12)Utah(-14.5)(3): Stanford blew the doors off of Oregon, and Utah did the same to Arizona State. Oregon’s D is nearly as bad as Sparky’s. Give me the Utes.

Georgia Southern(-2.5) at Georgia State(5): Yes, I get that this is a rivalry game, but if Kevin Ellison is released from his suspension, which looks likely, the Panthers have no chance. Give me GSU.

Louisiana-Monroe at Appalachian State(-25.5)(2): Appalachian is easily the better team, but this is a lot of points. Oh well, give me the Mountaineers anyway.
