College Football Picks Against The Spread Afternoon November 19

College football can be a fickle beast. It is still easier to pick against the spread than the NFL, but when you pick every game, it can get tough. I was marginally better last week (I know….big surprise) so I still have a big hole to dig myself out of.

More from College Football Odds

In case you don’t know what I do here, I pick every college football game of the season. Against the spread. Trust me, it’s not as easy as it sounds! I take the average of the odds from all of the Vegas casinos. I then round to the nearest half. There will be no ties here. Ties are for the other football (soccer).

This contains the picks for FBS vs. FBS games only. It is too hard to get an accurate spread on games that involve 1-AA teams. That means you will see few SEC teams this week due to their annual November cupcake weekend.

I will assign a point value “bet” on each game, between one and five points. That way you can see just how confident I am in each pick. Look for those at the end of each line.

This is for entertainment purposes only! I cannot be responsible for you losing any of your worldly possessions (or limbs) because of my picks. These are a guideline that you can use to help you with your picks. I am a simple man. I can’t have that on my conscience.

We have another 58 game weekend this week. I need to get at least 35 of them. 17 games kick off between 3 pm and 6 pm eastern. Let’s get to those!

Duke at Pittsburgh(-7.5)(2): Pitt is the better team, but they don’t always play like it. Give me Pitt, but I have little confidence in it.

(17)Florida State(-20.5) at Syracuse(2): I know FSU is capable of covering this, but it’s tougher to do on the road. That said, Eric Dungey is listed as doubtful for this, so give me the Seminoles. Amba Etta-Tawo can’t dominate if he has no one that can throw him the ball.

Buffalo at (21)Western Michigan(-34.5)(2): ESPN College GameDay is making it’s first trip to Kalamazoo, so this crowd is going to be amped up. I think it transfers on to the team. Give me the Broncos!

(22)Washington State at (10)Colorado(-4.5)(2): There is going to be some elite quarterback play on display in Boulder on Saturday. This is going to be a great game. So great that I think it is decided by a field goal or less. Give me Wazzu!

San Diego State(-9.5) at Wyoming(3): Okay, so what the oddsmakers are saying here is that SDSU is better than Boise State. No argument here. However, it is tough to play in Laramie, and Wyoming has a really solid team. I don’t trust the Aztecs to win outright, let alone win by double digits. Give me Wyoming.

Virginia Tech at Notre Dame(EVEN)(2): I took the Hokies outright in Pick Em, so I will here as well. I just don’t have a lot of confidence in it.

Missouri at (19)Tennessee(-16.5)(1): This is a marquee game in the SEC on Cupcake Saturday. This is an interesting one because Tennessee routinely plays down to opponents. That said, Appalachian State is likely better than Missouri. Ugh. Give me Mizzou, I guess.

Temple(-14.5) at Tulane(3): This looks low. Temple by a lot!

Texas Tech(-3.5) at Iowa State(3): It could be a blustery day in Ames. The Red Raiders need to win out to make a bowl. They will, but the Cyclones are going to make them work for it. Tech pulls away late.

Texas(-24.5) at Kansas(4): Texas will be bowl eligible when the dust clears, but they aren’t covering this. The only team Texas covered by this much this year was UTEP. Give me Kansas.

Indiana at (3)Michigan(-24.5)(5): This is ridiculous, and I’m not just talking about Michigan still being ranked third. That is a complaint for another day. What I’m getting at is that you have to quarterbacks who couldn’t beat out Jake Rudock last year that are trying to replace Wilton Speight. Michigan’s offense is going to take a step back here. Indiana has a very good offense, and will stay within striking distance. Give me the Hoosiers.

Northwestern(-1.5) at Minnesota(2): This opened with the Gophers favored, but soon the bettors realized what we already know. Northwestern is a strong team that doesn’t beat themselves. Minnesota has made it a point to beat themselves over the last couple of years. Give me Northwestern.

Texas State at New Mexico State(-9.5)(2): Believe it or not, New Mexico State has themselves a damn good running back. His name is Larry Rose III, and if you can find this game, check him out for a while because you wont see him in bowl season.

Navy(-7.5) at East Carolina(2): I pick against the Pirates, and they show up. I pick them and they get stomped by SMU. I know that ECU has the talent to stick around, but why are they so inconsistent? It makes it virtually impossible to pick their games. I think I have to go with ECU, even though I will likely regret it.

Utah State(-6.5) at Nevada(1): Utah State is the better team, but that doesn’t always mean they will win. I just can’t take Nevada though. Utah State by default.

(24)Stanford(-10.5) at California(2): Is Stanford this much better with Keller Chryst at QB? I don’t know, but what I do know is the Cal defense can’t stop anyone. Christian McCaffrey is going to go nuts in this one. Give me Stanford.

Southern Mississippi(-6.5) at North Texas(3): The Eagles have fallen apart lately. Mean Green straight up.
