DraftKings NHL Picks: December 8th

Tonight’s slate features 10 games with Tampa Bay, Los Angeles, Boston, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh having the best projected team totals. I will be targeting players from these teams in cash games. Here are my DraftKings NHL picks.

STL (-125) vs. NYI, O/U: 5

COL vs. BOS (-177), O/U: 5

EDM vs. PHI (-130), O/U: 5.5

NJD vs. MTL (-165), O/U: 5

PIT (-137) vs. FLA, O/U: 5.5

VAN vs. TB (-230), O/U: 5

NYR (-105) vs. WPG, O/U: 5.5

NAS (-120) vs. DAL, O/U: 5.5

CGY (-140) vs. ARI, O/U: 5

CAR vs. LA (-200), O/U: 5

Roman Josi – NSH (D) – $6600

There are a handful of solid options on the back end tonight, but Roman Josi is one of my preferred plays at the defensive position. Nashville will be on the road tonight, but they currently sit as -120 favorites, against Dallas. Josi has the ability to score in every fantasy category. Through 25 games, he has collected 73 shots, 38 blocks, and and 16 points. Given his shot volume and time on the top power play unit, he offers tremendous upside.

Victor Hedman – TB (D) – $5200

Victor Hedman is another great option tonight, and is more affordable if you cant seem to squeeze in a top defenseman. Tampa has one of the best projected team totals tonight, being -230 favorites at home. I want to have exposure to the Lightning’s top power play unit tonight, and Hedman is one of the cheapest, and safest, ways to go about doing that.

Anze Kopitar – LA (C) – $5500

Since returning from an upper body injury in late November, Anze Kopitar has rebounded nicely, compiling 6 assists in five games. LA is in a favorable match up at home tonight, against the Carolina Hurricanes who are on the second leg of a road back to back. Kopitar is extremely cheap on DraftKings tonight, and given that he’s averaging over 20 minutes per game, he’ll make for an excellent value play.

Blake Wheeler – WPG (C) – $6500

Winnipeg will play host to the visiting New York Rangers tonight, in what projects to be a great back and forth game. These teams both have a ton of offensive fire power, and I’ll be looking to get some exposure to Jets skaters in a game where Winnipeg will control the line match ups. Blake Wheeler is one of the safest plays on the board, and will be continue to be a staple in cash game lineups. Through 29 games, he’s accrued 82 shots and 22 points.
