DraftKings NHL Picks: December 13th

Tonight’s slate features 10 games, with Detroit holding the best projected team total at 3.4 goals. Carolina (3), and Anaheim (2.9), hold the next highest projections. I’ll be targeting players from these teams in cash games. Here are my DraftKings NHL picks.

WAS (-135) vs. NYI, O/U: 5

CHI vs. NYR (-130), O/U: 5

VAN vs. CAR (-193), O/U: 5

LA (-120) vs. BUF, O/U: 5

SJ vs. TOR (-110), O/U: 5.5

ARI vs. DET (-228), O/U: 5.5

STL vs. NAS (-154), O/U: 5

FLA vs. MIN (-145), O/U: 5

ANA (-120) vs. DAL, O/U: 5.5

CLB vs. EDM (-110), O/U: 5.5

Ryan Kesler – ANA (W) – $6900

Anaheim will hit the road tonight to take on the Dallas Stars. This is the beginning of a long road trip, and they Ducks are favorites tonight, at -120. This should be a fast paced game, with plenty of offensive action. Winger, Ryan Kesler, has crushed of late, recording 7 points in his last 5 games. Kesler has upside given his scoring production and time on the top power play unit, but also has a comfortable floor in cash games, as he’s averaging 2.26 shots and 1.09 blocks per game.

Sebastian Aho – CAR (W) – $4200

Carolina’s second line is severely under priced tonight, in a favorable match up against the visiting Canucks. The Hurricanes are a massive -193 favorite, and are projected to score 3 goals. Sebastian Aho is the safer option of the three forwards on the second line. He’s averaging 2.32 shots per game. Given the match up and time on the top power play unit, Aho is a great value play tonight.

Riley Sheahan – DET (C) – $3800

Detroit has by far, the best projected team total, at 3.4 goals. They’ll face the Arizona Coyotes tonight, at home, in a back to back for the visitor. As massive, -228 favorites, we should expect a sufficient amount of offensive production from the Wings. Riley Sheahan is the cheapest way to get exposure to both Detroit’s second line, as well as their top power play unit. Sheahan is only $3800 on DraftKings.

Teuvo Teravainen – CAR (C) – $4100

As I previously mentioned, Carolina’s second line is very under priced considering their match up and their time on the top power play unit. Given that their line will stay intact when given a man advantage, they are one of the best stacks on the slate.
