Bowl season is more than half over, but we are really kicking it into high gear now! Friday is the single heaviest day of bowl season this year with five games taking place! Next up is the Nova Home Loans Arizona Bowl.

The Jaguars were hard to read this year. They managed to beat a SEC bowl team and a ranked San Diego State team, yet they went 2-6 in the Sun Belt. Dallas Davis is a good quarterback, and Gerald Everett could play tight end in the NFL, but the lack of a consistent playmaker on defense hurt them. Can they stop that Air Force option?
Air Force(9-3, 5-3 Mountain West):
Wins: vs. Abilene Christian(37-21), vs. Georgia State(48-14), at Utah State(27-20), vs. Navy(28-14), at Fresno State(31-21), at Army(31-12), vs. Colorado State(49-46), at San Jose State(41-38), vs. Boise State(27-20)

Record vs. bowl teams: 4-3
Show of hands: how many of you actually knew that Air Force had a receiver with over 800 yards receiving? Yes, that is more than any one player has rushing for this team. Jalen Robinette is a very good receiver, even in a nearly run exclusive offense. Jacobi Owens is the leading rusher, but it was Timothey McVey who had big games down the stretch when the Falcons needed it. As you would expect from Air Force, they also have a solid defense.
Prediction:
South Alabama has the potential to stay in this game if they play well. Hell, they may even win. That said, this is a very inconsistent team. Air Force is not. I am quite sure that Air Force is going to win this game, but that half point on the spread has my confidence on the spread way down. That’s the whole idea, right? More than two touchdowns is a lot for an option offense. Air Force is more than capable of covering this though. I just have a feeling that South Alabama is going to be super excited to be here.
