Andrew Wiggins, Minnesota’s young star, put on his own dunk display last night in Denver.

You never can get enough of highlight plays in the NBA, especially when they come in the form of vicious dunks. Luckily for us, fans got to witness one of those spectacles last night after Minnesota Timberwolves star Andrew Wiggins skied over Denver Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic.

The former Kansas star was a locomotive coming down the lane when he launched himself into the air and finished with contact over Jokic, who clearly wanted no part of the beast coming his way. Wiggins was clearly pleased with the result as he was kind enough to stare Jokic down following the dunk.

Watch and enjoy the crude behavior if you missed it:

Wiggins cannot believe someone had the audacity to challenge him at the rim like that. Get in his way, and Wiggins will make opponents pay a price, and the fine is a highlight reel that will continue looping for the remainder of the NBA season.

The 2017 Slam Dunk Contest doesn’t kick off until Saturday night in New Orleans, but apparently we are being treated to a preview of sorts. Wiggins is a ferocious finisher once he picks up steam, so he should definitely consider entering the contest at one point down the line. Regardless, the 21-year-old from Canada submitted his clip for dunk of the year.

Despite Minnesota’s struggles, the first-overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft is certainly coming along nicely. Wednesday marked a second consecutive 40 point outing after Wiggins dropped 41 against the Cleveland. On the year, the numbers are impressive for this budding star. Wiggins is averaging 23.2 points per game with 2.5 APG and 4.1 RPG. Although the Timberwolves have progress to make as a team, the foundation they have to build around is extremely promising. The combination of Wiggins and Towns could be the league’s best in a few years.
