The 2017 Southern Conference Tournament bracket, complete with a printable version to fill out on your own
Perhaps one of the tightest in-conference races in college basketball season came out of the Southern Conference. Three teams ultimately finished tied atop the league after the regular season, the trio all being incredibly well matched. Now they, along with the other seven teams in the league, prepare to wage war and try to earn the automatic berth available in the 2017 Southern Conference Tournament.
The UNC Greensboro Spartans went on a hell of a run to finish the regular season red-hot. After starting the season at just 16-8 overall and 7-4 in conference play, they didn’t lose the rest of the season. They’ll enter the 2017 Souther Conference Tournament as the No. 1 seed and riding a seven-game winning streak. If you believe in momentum, the Spartans certainly have it right now.
Meanwhile, the Furman Paladins and East Tennessee State Buccaneers each finished with an identical 14-4 record in league play this season as well. They are the Nos. 3 and 2 seeds, respectively, in the 2017 Southern Conference Tournament. Not all can win the tournament, though, and not even all three can make the title game to try and earn a berth. Subsequently, the fight to the finish with the games played in Asheville, NC should be furious.
