Lance Stephenson signed another 10-day contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Lance Stephenson, a point guard, will be returning back to the Minnesota Timberwolves on his second 10-day contract with the team.

According to ESPN’s Chris Haynes, the Timberwolves will be giving Stephenson another shot with his second 10-day contract. Stephenson signed his first 10-day with the Wolves back in February, but the Wolves were hesitant to sign him to one more because of a nagging ankle injury. The grade-2 ankle sprain seems to have faded into the distance, and Tom Thibodeau is ready to give Stephenson his second shot.

The Wolves are looking to make a playoff push considering that they are only three-and-a-half games back of the eight-seed. After a shaky start to the season, the Wolves look to be in good shape without their high-flyer, Zach Lavine, who is out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL. Stephenson averaged 4.3 points off of the bench for the Wolves and apparently, everything that he did for the team off of the bench was good enough for Thibodeau to want to give him one more chance.

Stephenson adds some flare that the Wolves have been missing on their bench. Every team needs an energizer bunny that can pick up the lack of energy on the floor. For the San Antonio Spurs, it is Patty Mills, for the Miami Heat it is Tyler Johnson, and so on and so forth.

Stephenson will hopefully aid in the Timberwolves production and not hinder them in their playoff hopes for the season. Thibodeau obviously enjoys having Stephenson on the team and feels that he can add a certain something to the team. From the outside, this signing may not make the most sense, but this is a great sign for the Wolves.
