Taking a look at the 2017 NIT bracket for the 32 teams still competing in the postseason, complete with a printable version

There’s no question that the 32 teams that will be playing in the 2017 NIT would much rather be competing for a National Championship. That’s the goal of any team in college basketball every season. However, there are some teams that ultimately don’t get to enjoy that fortune, despite a strong season. Those teams then still have a chance at a postseason by making it into the NIT bracket.

On Sunday night following the official Selection Sunday for field of 68 in the NCAA Tournament, the 2017 NIT bracket was revealed on ESPN. Because of the first four out from the NCAA tourney, we already knew who the No. 1 seeds would be in the NIT bracket. Those spots belonged to the Syracuse Orange (top-overall seed), California Golden Bears, Illinois State Redbirds and Iowa Hawkeyes.

However, the real question was which other teams would get a bid to the tournament and fill out the rest of the 2017 NIT bracket. All we knew outside of those four were teams like UT-Arlington and Monmouth that would make it as regular season conference champions who failed to earn an automatic bid.
