Some people say Chicago Pizza isn’t pizza. Some say it’s tomato soup in a bread bowl. I disagree. If anything, it’s more of a stew. And I don’t care, it’s delicious. Pizza can mean different things to different people.

On any given day, pizza probably means about eight different things to four different people at two different times in Sacramento. They are difficult, difficult to watch, difficult to understand, difficult to enjoy. Even in the tank rankings, they decide to be abstruse.

They had a battle for the fourth best odds against Orlando on Monday. They decided to win the game and lose the greater advantage by having seven players score double-digits while none reached 20 points. Some might call that a sign of generalized team construction. Those people would have to know nothing about what Sacramento is or has done. Anthony Tolliver should not be your leading scorer.

With so much about their future picks dependent on where they land in the draft lottery, it’s good to know at least one player is in the proper frame of mind. According to the ESPN box score, Rudy Gay was a -1 in against the Magic. By all accounts, he didn’t actually play in this game. I’ve not rewatched game footage because why would I do that to myself, but if he didn’t play and still managed to negatively affect the outcome of the game he should be receiving MVP votes. He’s doing the impossible, and for that he deserves a max contract. Just think of how much worse he could make them if he were actually on the floor.
