Dwayne Bacon is apparently enjoying his time in Dunk City as the Florida State star gave FGCU a dose of his own high-flying

Who can forget Florida Gulf Coast and their rise to notoriety under Andy Enfield a few years ago with Dunk City. Their high-flying ways caught the attention of every college basketball fan in America and had them on their feet—and the upsets probably helped, too. Back in March Madness again, sans Enfield, FGCU entered as the No. 14 seed with a matchup against Dwayne Bacon and the Florida State Seminoles.

Despite the Noles getting out to the early lead, FGCU was unfazed and unafraid. And though they aren’t a team this time around that’s known for their high-flying, they still showcased it a bit. The Eagles got the building rocking with two huge posterizations. However, Bacon wasn’t about to be in Dunk City without participating in the festivities.

Nearing the end of the first half in a tied game, Florida State got a rebound and quickly took off on the break. With numbers, Bacon was split out wide to the left. When the FGCU defense faded slightly to the right, he got the rock and went right to the rim.

To get there, though, he took off from way outside the paint and just flew over the Eagles defenders for a humungous one-handed jam:

I guess Dwayne Bacon does indeed feel welcome in Dunk City.

After Bacon’s jam gave the Seminoles the two-point lead late, it also helped get the team some momentum to close out the first 20 minutes. They went on a mini 6-2 run to close the half to earn a minimal four-point cushion going into the locker room. Regardless of score, though, it’s hard not to love a game being played above the rim in the NCAA Tournament.
