Here’s how to watch Thursday’s NCAA Tournament First Round matchup between the fifth-seeded Minnesota Golden Gophers and No. 12 Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders online.

The No. 12 Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders will try to pull of their second straight NCAA Tournament upset when they take on the No. 5 Minnesota Golden Gophers to open South Region action on Thursday afternoon.

After winning all of eight games a year ago, Richard Pitino and Minnesota engineered one of the most impressive turnarouns in the nation with a record of 24-9 to qualify for the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2013. The Golden Gophers won nine of 11 games down the stretch, including a Big Ten Tournament Quaterfinal victory against Michigan State.

Minnesota held opponents under 40 percent shooting overall in the regular season, giving it one of the toughest defenses in the Big Ten. Losing guard Akeem Springs to an Achilles injury last week hurts, so the Golden Gophers will need leading scorers Nate Mason and Amir Coffey to shoulder even more of the load.

Middle Tennessee stunned Michigan State in the first round last season and has only improved with a 30-4 overall record in 2017. Kermit Davis’ team has won 20 of its last 21 games and beat fellow tournament teams like Vanderbilt and UNC-Wilmington during its nonconference slate.

The Blue Raiders slow the pace down, have a strong balance on both sides of the ball, and are particularly efficient on the interior offensively. Stars Giddy Potts and Reggie Upshaw are back from last year’s team, while Arkansas transfer Jacorey Williams leads the team in scoring and rebounding.
