Bill Murray cheers on Xavier at 2017 Sweet 16 (Video)

Bill Murray got hyped late in the game as the Xavier Musketeers took the fight to the Arizona Wildcats.

Seeing Bill Murray at sporting events has become tradition. He’s most notably at Chicago Cubs games and watching him get emotional as his favorite baseball team won the World Series reminded us all why we love sports. He’s also at a regular at Xavier Musketeers games too. His son, Luke, is on the coaching staff and Murray has given the team his full support.

With the Musketeers having a chance to reach the Elite Eight on Thursday night, Murray was more fired up than usual. As the Musketeers had the lead late in the game and made a huge bucket, Murray was shown celebrating.

The great thing about Murray at sporting events is that he doesn’t try to hide his emotions. He’s a fan through and through and isn’t afraid to let anyone know it. Plus, having his son be on the Xavier staff makes it a special bond for him.

There also exists the possibility that Murray now is a good luck charm at games. We saw the Cubs win the World Series with him in attendance. It should be no surprise that the Musketeers are balling if you’re the superstitious type.

When it comes to celebrities at sporting events, Murray raises the bar for everyone else. He’s seen heartbreak, championships and his son help coach a team. There probably isn’t a better feeling in the world for him.
