Jimmy Butler grows wings on insanely high alley-oop

Jimmy Butler soared for an insanely high alley-oop against the New York Knicks in Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night.
Early in the first quarter against the New York Knicks, Jimmy Butler provided some excitement for fans in attendance.
After a jab-step fake on Courtney Lee, Rajon Rondo would heave up a lob to Butler and he made sure to do the rest.

Indeed, go get it, young man. Jimmy Butler is known for the blue-collar work ethic he brings to the Chicago Bulls. A guy often praised for his ability as a two-way player and his scoring, highlight-reel plays are not normally what Butler is known for. Also noted, it’s not often Rajon Rondo misses on an alley-oop this poorly, but it’s safe to say that Butler can grab it from anywhere.
The Bulls are fighting to stay in the NBA playoff hunt as they currently sit in the seventh spot in the Eastern Conference heading into tonight’s matchup against the Knicks. With five games left on the schedule including tonight, this is what you like to see from your superstars down the final stretch.
Jimmy Butler can absolutely fly and the Bulls need him to continue to “lift off” to close this one out and take down a Knicks squad, that at this point of the season, is once again out of the playoff picture. Unfortunately, Chicago trailed New York by 16 points midway through the third quarter.
If the Bulls can close out the season undefeated, however, it could place them in a more favorable matchup than the seventh seed would, as of now they would face the Cleveland Cavaliers.
If the Bulls can close out the season undefeated, it could place them in a more favorable matchup than the seventh seed would, as of now they would face the Cleveland Cavaliers and a guy named LeBron James. Simply, scary.
