11. Tyler Dorsey buries Rhode Island
Dorsey lived up to his “Mr. March” nickname with a game-winning shot from well beyond the arc in Oregon’s Second Round comeback victory over Rhode Island.
Early on, the loss of Boucher had a major impact, as Oregon’s defense could do little to stop Rhode Island. The Rams ended the first half on a 18-4 run to take an eight-point advantage into the break and were able to score nearly at will in the paint.
That lead grew as large as 10 before Dorsey and Dillon Brooks started an Oregon rally. Rhode Island was able to maintain a four-point lead at the 2:20 mark, but Dorsey tied things up 40 seconds later on a long-range bomb.
With under a minute left, Dorsey connected again from deep to put the Ducks up 75-72. After getting a second chance to tie on an offensive rebound, E.C. Matthews 3-point attempt as time expired was well off to give Oregon the victory.
Dorsey shot 4-of-5 from beyond the arc as part of a 27-point performance to help keep what eventually became a lengthy run for the Ducks alive.
