MLB DFS Value Plays for DraftKings and FanDuel April 11th

I’ll be looking to uncover the most obvious MLB DFS Value Plays on each slate, and each site. Value plays will generally consist of under-priced players, or players priced differently on a given site. Some values will be in play on both sites, some will only be values on one specific site. Note that value tends to carry higher ownership and may be worth a fade in specific GPP contests.

Tonight’s main slate features six games, with Kansas City (4.8), Milwaukee (4.6), and New York (4.6), holding the best projected team totals. With Madison Bumgarner on the bump tonight, we’ll need to find some sources of salary relief if we want to fit Mad Bum into our lineups. Here are a handful of value plays on both DraftKings and FanDuel.

DraftKings MLB Values:

Mike Moustakas – KC (3B) – $3400

Kansas City has the highest projected total on tonight’s slate, at 4.8 runs. Early action has bumped up the juice on the over, and we could see this total get to 9.5.

More from FanSided

Mike Moustakas is one of the best plays on the slate, given his splits against righties so far this year. Moustakas has gotten the better of righties, with a .309 wOBA split and a .333 ISO split. Moustakas is also significantly cheaper on DraftKings relative to FanDuel.

Travis Shaw – MIL (3B) – $3800

Travis Shaw will face off against righty, Bronson Arroyo. Shaw is projected to bat clean-up, and should have plenty of opportunities to score runs, given Milwaukee’s projected team total of 4.6 runs. In the last 15 days, Shaw’s exit velocity is clocking in at an average of 93 MPH, 3 MPH higher than his average last year of 90 MPH. This may be an indicator of good things to come.

Madison Bumgarner – SF (P) – $11,300

As I mentioned, Bumgarner stands out as the most elite pitcher throwing tonight. If you’re looking to get exposure to him, I’d recommend you look to roster him on FanDuel where he’s much cheaper. Bumgarner has a multitude of factors in his favor tonight. Vegas has the Giants as a -156 favorite and Colorado’s team total sits at a measly 2.9 runs. He’ll also have the benefit of pitching in his home ballpark, one of the best in the league for pitchers, and on a relatively cool night (56 degrees at game time).

Eric Thames – MIL (1B) – $2500

Eric Thames will look to continue his hitting streak tonight, when facing Arroyo. Thames, a lefty, should benefit from being on the favorable side of a lefty vs. righty split. Thames will bat second in an offense looking to breakout tonight. With the Brewers on the road and Thames batting second, he’ll have an increased opportunity to earn more plate appearances.

Good luck!
