We have your one stop Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 review roundup here — so how did the film fare among the critics and fans?

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is getting a lot of buzz amongst movie-goers, who are all too pleased about seeing another installment of the Marvel characters on the big screen. But the question is, how well did they do with the critics? You can find out here, in our Guardians of the Galaxy 2 review roundup.

Our first review in the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 review roundup comes from Gersh Kuntzman of the New York Daily News, who didn’t seem to be too big of a fan of the second installment. He believed that it was derivative and lacked all the charm of the O.G. Guardians of the Galaxy. While he was a big fan of the original film, calling it his favorite film of 2014, he wasn’t as big of a fan of the sequel. (He did, however, say that Chris Pratt was still the perfect Star Lord.)

On the other hand, our second review of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 review roundup — which comes courtesy of Chris Hewitt over at Empire Magazine — is a lot more positive. Praising both James Gunn and Chris Pratt for their work on the film, Hewitt praised the film for having a big budget yet also having indie sensibilities.

"“That confidence is evident from the film’s credit sequence, which presents an action set-piece in a hilarious and highly unorthodox manner, while giving the incredibly cute Baby Groot a glorious moment in the spotlight and serving notice that ‘Awesome Mix Vol. 2’, the mix-tape that drives the film’s soundtrack, is going to be every bit as earwormy as ‘Vol. 1’.”"

Next: Who directed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2?

Metacritic‘s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 review roundup, however, gave the film only a 67 out of a possible 100. So it’s good but not as good as the first film? Fans will probably take that if true, and a whole bunch of them are likely headed to see it this weekend to decide for themselves.
