Colin Kaepernick does not have a home for the 2017 NFL season, and while he did visit the Seattle Seahawks last week, no deal is imminent.

As we inch closer to the 2017 NFL season, former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is still without a team. Kaepernick, who led the 49ers to a Super Bowl during his time as the team’s starter, met with the Seattle Seahawks this past week, but no deal is currently imminent. It continues to amaze that he does not  have a job, yet players with far less talent are currently employed.

Staying with the quarterbacks, it looks like the Oakland Raiders have a deadline to get a deal done with Derek Carr. Carr would like a deal done by training camp and is willing to table talks if nothing is in concrete by that time. The fourth-year quarterback is one of the best young players at his position in the league, and the Raiders need to get this deal done as soon as possible.

Mark Sanchez was once considered a franchise quarterback during his time with the New York Jets but is currently battling to stay employed in the league. Sanchez injured his knee during the Chicago Bears voluntary workouts and will not be available until training camp. The injury left the door open for Connor Shaw, who is looking to latch onto the Bears in a backup role for the 2017 NFL season.

Matt Jones is very unhappy with his role in the Washington Redskins offense and currently would like to be released, or traded. Jones lost his starting job to Rob Kelley when he injured his knee last season and does not appear to be in the Redskins plans for the upcoming season. The Redskins have no intention to move Jones at this time, even after drafting Oklahoma star running back Samaje Perine in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Finally, it looks like New York Jets tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins is getting his act together. A talented player, Seferian-Jenkins has had his issues off the field during his NFL career, including a DUI arrest back in September. In an interview with ESPN, the 24-year old said he has not had a drink since January and attends rehab four times per week as an outpatient. That is good news for both Seferian-Jenkins and the Jets, who need all the help they can get this season.
