Danilo Gallinari breaks hand punching opponent during European friendly
By Trey Daubert
Clippers forward Danilo Gallinari is playing overseas at the moment but things quickly got ugly. Watch him punch a player in the face.
If you thought Danilo Gallinari was soft, well, think again. The new Clippers forward is currently playing overseas for his native Italy. During an exhibition game, Gallinari got heated and threw a haymaker towards Jito Kok of the Netherlands. Things got physical quickly as Galo was not ready to hold back. Watch him go to town on Kok throwing bombs.
During the scuffle, Gallinari suffered a broken hand. The Clippers aren’t going to like this news as the Italian Stallion casts another ugly fighting incident upon the organization. He will be sidelined for the rest of the Euro competition and Clippers doctors will have to determine just how long he’ll be out of action.
Clipper fans have to be traumatized hearing this news. Remember when Blake Griffin suffered a similar injury punching a staff member? With Gallinari and Griffin, the Clippers now have two or the most injury prone players in the NBA. Those two players are costing Los Angeles a ton of money as well as Griffin landed a supermax deal this offseason. Gallinari also cashed in quite well landing a 3-year, $65 million deal in a sign-and-trade deal involving the Nuggets and Hawks.
Expectations for the Clippers will likely be low after losing Chris Paul. The front court of Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan will return for another go around despite the odd fit. Gallinari’s addition makes things even more awkward considering he is 6-foot-10 and will likely struggle to guard smaller players in the new look super big Clippers lineup.

The good news is that he is expected to be ready for training camp. It may be odd to say but the injury couldn’t have come at a better time as the regular season is still a few months away.
