Arizona Diamondbacks were searching for a 5th starter when Shelby Miller’s season ended due to Tommy John Surgery. Zack Godley lived up expectations and never looked back.

Arizona Diamondbacks are one game ahead of the Colorado Rockies in the NL Wild Card with a record of (59-44). Expected to have an underwhelming season, they are in place for the playoffs.

The starting rotation is the reason for the Diamondbacks success this season. They have an ERA of 3.47 which ranks 2nd in MLB. Zack Godley has been the most surprising of the bunch while having the best season of his career.

Godley is (4-4) with a 3.06 ERA 1.008 WHIP in 88.1 IP. Posting a 6.3 H9, 0.6 HR/9, 2.8 BB/9 and, 9.3 SO/9 and 3.03 FIP. Godley’s FIP suggests that he isn’t over performing and should keep up his success. Also, his 9.3 SO/9 has improved over his last couple of starts. As he posted a career high 9 K while facing the Atlanta braves then surpassed it his next start while facing the Washington Nationals with 10 K.
