MLB DFS Value Plays DraftKings FanDuel August 2nd

I’ll be looking to uncover the most obvious MLB DFS Value Plays DraftKings FanDuel on each slate, and each site. Value plays will generally consist of under-priced players, or players priced differently on a given site. Some values will be in play on both sites, some will only be values on one specific site. Note that value tends to carry higher ownership and may be worth a fade in specific GPP contests.

Tonight’s slate features 12 games, with Colorado (6.8), New York (5.9), Los Angeles (5.6), and Texas (5.5), holding the best projected team totals. With high priced players available tonight, finding value will be critical for success. Here are a handful of value plays on both DraftKings and FanDuel.

DraftKings MLB Values:

Josh Bell – PIT (1B) – $3800

Pittsburgh will host the Cincinnati Reds, in a game in which the Pirates are projected to score 5.4 runs. Pittsburgh is up among some of the top projected team totals and first baseman Josh Bell is much cheaper on DraftKings relative to FanDuel. Even with a team total higher than normal, Bell has received a discount tonight. Priced into the $4000 range in recent weeks, Bell is quite cheaper tonight at only $3800. He will also benefit from facing a righty, as he holds a .338 wOBA split and a .203 ISO split.

Yoenis Cespedes – NYM (OF) – $4300

Yoenis Cespedes is by no means cheap, but when comparing his price tag to those of his teammates, he’s incredibly underpriced. While the matchup against Tyler Chatwood will benefit the lefties, Cespedes is $1200 cheaper than Conforto, $700 cheaper than Cabrera, and $1100 cheaper than Bruce. It’s also important to note that there has been some significant reverse line movement in favor of the Mets already. Some shops opened with the Mets at +150 and they are now down to +124 in some locations.

FanDuel MLB Values:

Asdrubal Cabrera – NYM (3B) – $3700

On the flip side, Asdrubal Cabrera is much cheaper on FanDuel tonight. While Cabrera didn’t help us out last night, he’ll be in another advantageous matchup against a righty. Cabrera holds a .352 wOBA split and a .211 ISO split against righties. Given the Mets’ team total, his price, and his spot in the order, Cabrera should be heavily considered on FanDuel.

Corey Seager – LAD (SS) – $3600

Shortstop Corey Seager will be in play tonight, as the Dodgers hold a projected team total of 5.5 runs. He is absurdly cheap on FanDuel tonight, and will be in a good matchup vs. a righty. Seager holds a .386 wOBA split and a .208 ISO split against right handed pitching. Seager’s price is a bit cheaper than normal given the game at Coors Field tonight, but his recent batted ball stats are all on point, or better, than normal. In the last 15 days, his distance is up 11 feet, and his hard hit percentage is up 7%.
